Ivan Argote often creates interventions and performances in the public space creating video pieces that explore the city as a space of political and relational conflict. Ivan Argote was born in 1983 in Bogotá, and lives in Paris. He has an MFA in Graphic Design by the National University of Colombia and an MFA in the Ecole Supériore des Beaux-Arts, Paris. Argote creates scenarios in his art that blend rebellion and absurdity. He has presented solo exhibitions at Palais de Tokyo, Paris; CA2M, Madrid; Galerie Perrotin, Paris and D+T Project, among others. Since 2007 his works has been presented in different group shows around the world in public and private institutions. He has been awarded with the "Prix SAM, 2011" and recently the "Audi Talents Award, 2013". The artist was included in the 30th Sao Paulo Biennale, Brazil.
